The Spark: Where Art and Curiosity Met:

I still remember sitting in the living room the day before my first day of school, watching TV, when my dad walked through the door after a long day of work and handed me a brand-new backpack. It was heavy, packed to the brim with fresh books and crisp pens. Unzipping it, I was greeted by the clean, unmistakable smell of new beginnings. Inside, my hands found a science textbook. I immediately dropped to my stomach on the rug and began devouring every page, instantly mesmerized by the diagrams explaining how things were made and how nature functioned.

But reading wasn’t enough. Because I couldn’t yet write, I needed to process what I was seeing by drawing. Right then and there, I grabbed a pen and began sketching the plants, the intricate natural systems, and the landscapes in the book, tracing each detail. That curiosity didn’t stay on the page; it inspired me to start my first garden soon after. What began as a childhood fascination with how things are made became the confluence of art, science, and engineering that still defines my practice today.

“Jacob Goldsmith is the epitome of creativity." — Traval M., Traveling Nurse.

"The passion, determination, and conviction of Jacob Goldsmith are out of this world, and his prices are reasonable." — L. Koné, Accountant.

“Jacob’s work touched my heart. He is a great creator. I was sitting across the hall from his gallery, giving a presentation, but could not stop looking at his art gallery from my platform, and how many visitors he was receiving. After my presentation I couldn’t help but visit. And Chapeau d’artiste is my favorite. Jacob touched my heart.” — Performing Artist/Dancer, Dadie B.

“I’m not downtown. I’m not in the arts district. I’m in my own neighborhood. This is West Baltimore. This is North Avenue. This is what the vision is. This is what happens when you see more than the narrative would have you believe. This is what is to come. Great work Jacob Goldsmith.” — Tiffany W., MD State Delegate.

Jacob Goldsmith is the Founder of Goldsmith & Co. Art Galleries.
